Sesame Street is celebrating it's 40th anniversary on Tuesday. Fuck yeah, I still love Sesame Street. Obviously I haven't watch it in about 15 years, but I hear it's still very popular in America and often has big star cameo's. It's sad that it's not on British TV anymore as it's amazing television and undeniably enriched my childhood no end.

sesame street was bullshit. i could already read and write when i first saw it so all the numbers and letters rubbish was boring. also the muppets are shit. also the whole gay wholesomeness, all the contrived multiculturalness and barneyesque loveliness made me feel nauseous as a child. big bird is the most irritating backwards cunt i can think of. utterly unwatchable. muppet show can fuck off as well. over rated bullshit for simpletons.

I watched sesame street religiously when I was little. The music and graphics were excellent. The funk music was incredible. It was a true product of the 70's for me. I don't really care what they did after the 80's. It was all 70's for me.

I'm not a fan of Elmo either. He was a little past my time and is pretty annoying, but you have to admit that aesthetically he's one of the cutest.

 

 

I never particularly liked Big Bird either, he was too much about learning and interacting with the human characters. Grover is the fucking shit though.

I remember when Telly Monster first appeared - he was this zombie, always staring at the TV (hence his name), but I guess after they realized that was a bad role model for kids (lol), they just made him uppity.
