New Rubens Track

made from some parts of an aborted tune from last weekend (when Gump was too pissed to even read the screen and we spent 4 hours just trying to sync up 2 machines...what a fucking afternoon of nonsense that was gimmerman - ye big loafheid steamer ye).

big soupy mixture of leftovers best served on a cold day with the volume turned right up to 11.

hope you don't choke on it.

not much goin around i'm afraid (quality not quanitity yadda yadda)...the ep is here and there's a few rubens remixes over at retropublik (new city 16 - york remixes and mosca - vertical hold remixes).

beautiful track, more ambient then expected. a little saw 2-ish, but more sterile sounding. the skittery beats are like a pulse than a beat.

saw ii meets europe's final count down - in a good way. this is a top track. i can't believe none of these other fuckers are rating it.

thanks for the listen mang - glad you likey. needs refining and cleaning up - i'm sure we'll come back to it later in the year and give it another pass when gump has straightened oot.

This reminds me of Sabres of Paradise, 'Smokebelch'. Sounds really good, but can tell it's 'Work in Progress' after hearing other polished excellent Rubens tracks. Little bit more filmscape than previous stuff:

mountains, tears, battles etc.

the off chords are a result of gump resting his pint of beer on the keyboard at various points in the day, gives a whole new meaning to the word 'bar'.

Yeah I like this a lot tis deep. Has that quintessential Rephlex lushness. This could easily be a track from the Rephlex catalogue of goodness. Builds very nicely through out. Reminds me a lot of Aphex thats for sure. Initially the SAW2 reference is a good one but I think this goes way way beyond SAW2 miniminalism. Yeah real solid track. Probably the best track I've heard this week on YLC erm well it is only Monday. :laughing: I'm thinking straight away this is probably one of the best tracks I've heard on YLC this year. Maybe its a late night thing but I hope not. Good stuff mate. Wondering what the next 2 minutes are going to be as am now thinking it should probably wind down or finish. Am hearing some very nice additional lush notes as this track has progressed but they seem a bit faint or is it my imagination? Hope I haven't been over enthusiastic but anyways damn good stuff. Peace.
