Guest chax
Quote What if you saw the world with your ears? Inspired by M.C. Escher's classic optical illusion and the echolocation of dolphins, Devil's Tuning Fork challenges you to explore a new mode of perception through sound visualization. This is gameplay footage from Devil's Tuning Fork, a game created by the DePaul Game Elites team at DePaul University's College of Computing & Digital Media in Chicago. The team was selected by our Game Designer in Residence, Alex Seropian. The game has been submitted for consideration by the Independent Game Festival's Student Showcase. The Story: As a mysterious epidemic causes children everywhere to fall into comas, one child wakes up in an alternate reality. It is up to this child, the player, to determine the cause of the epidemic and save the other children trapped here. By way of the devil's tuning fork, a magical instrument that allows the player to perceive sound waves, the player must find all the children and successfully escape this alternate reality, thereby waking up from the coma. you can download it here for free: http://devilstuningfork.com/ Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/50920-devils-tuning-fork/ Share on other sites

Guest Blanket Fort Collapse
the visual style looks to be much more interesting/quality than the gameplay/overall quality control. I dig the visuals for sure but I could see them being a lot more amazing, they said he could see sounds but I dont see any sine, square, octahedrogonicon waves hehe nor anything that looks like a trippy digital rendering of sound which i dont think would be too difficult to implement Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/50920-devils-tuning-fork/#findComment-1172234 Share on other sites

Guest Glass Plate
yeah, but if macs don't even make gaming mice, why the fuck should people give them games? It's simply not part of the mac market, so fuck macs. Ok, lets no de-rail the thread. The game does look interesting, but seems to be focused more on the graphics/story than the actual game play, but I guess lots of games like Silent Hill are the same way? I don't know. chenGOD
There are plenty of games for Macs. Including FPS games. Anyways..about not seeing sine waves/square waves: that's cause not much in nature is a perfect sine or square wave.
