Posthuman: Lander Remix Competition

 

1st prize: £50 record shop voucher

2nd prize: £25 record shop voucher

3rd prize: £10 record shop voucher

 

Winning entries, as chosen by Posthuman, will feature on a limited

edition compilation CD & download release.

 

Remix parts & a 64kbs mp3 of the original track can be downloaded from

undergroundelectrics.com/remix

 

Entries must be emailed as mp3 (max file size 10 meg) to

remix@posthumanmusic.com

 

Deadline is January 31st 2010.

Winners will be then asked to provide a 24bit .wav with -6db headroom

 

Lander is out now on 10" vinyl & digital on Handsette Records

seems quite reasonable to make a complete rework in any direction using a sample from early in the track .. given that the rest of it doesn't really go anywhere ..

 

edit - not saying that in a rude way .. just matter of factly from a rmxrs perspective ...

 

i could always d/l the zip though .. hah !!

hoping that the submissions do just that, take the components that they want, but then rework in a completely different and unexpected direction. you could take just the stab, or the juno, or a beat, or whatever.

 

we're certainly not going to just release a CD full of ravey breaks and nothing else.

 

if you listen to the Posthuman back catalogue, you'll see we're not really interested in staying within defined genres.

even though that would probably make it easier to define & market, and we probably would have actually made some actual money sometime in the last ten years. also doesn't help with live bookings, when promoters aren't sure what you're going to sound like :-)

inconsistency is certainly not a recipe for financial success, but i think its more rewarding personally
