Guest jim
Does anyone know exactly what percentage of the money paid at the itunes store actually goes to the artist, i know it's small but exactly how small? And, more importantly, is there a reliable website with this information that i can footnote in an essay? Phrank
Yeah that's about right. Other mp3 sellers like juno and places like that take 40/50%... what's left will go to the record companies and then will be split between them and the artist depending on what the deal is with the contract they have together, usually 50/50. Caretstik
I seem to remember Moodgadget saying on here that iTunes tend to deduct less from the smaller artists and labels than they do from the majors. Sorry, that's very little help, but I think there are at least a few folk still appearing on WATMM who have had releases up there, they should be able to give you some idea.
