How to use the line in in ableton live

Im having trouble with ableton live, i cant seem to select the line in as an audio input in ableton live, i can only select the (very noisey) mic in, anyone know why this is?the line in works fine just sounding in windows, but i cant get it to be just in ableton live.

Options > Preferences > Audio > Input Config

Whoops yeah i was using the wrong driver :$, however its noisey as fuck! i was under the impression it would be acceptable way to get my mixer into ableton?i really dont want to buy a new soundcard

did you add more inputs in the input config?

hey thanks for your help, i dont see where you can add new inputs into the input config however.

Ive now noticed other problems,a 1 second delay and an actual delay in the sound like that produced by a delay effect.

heres an audio sample with a sh101 into the mixer (optimal settings)out the record out of the mixer into the line in into an ableton live audio channel

sounds like you need to setup your stuff properly, go to View > Help View then "Learn how to setup your audio hardware".
