Ae appearance on WARP20

Hi,

first let me introduce myself... I have to say, yeah I'm back to the IDM community. Loved WARP und such from the very beginning, bought all WARP purple records those days,,,, later was in the SLSK idm community, idm-ml, and on the µ-Board. I loved Ae most. Today, I think they went out of ideas. IDM is dead. Is it? I didn't like RDJs Acid experiments (last I liked was Windowlicker) and I think Ae's last major album was Confield, Gantz Graf was the last real convincing track for me. I converted to classical music a couple of years ago which has a lot to offer... And , tada,,, RAMMSTEIN :) Good fun!

I'm no more up-to-date in IDM, sometimes I look if there was something new from the big ones like ae, rdj, []pusher ...

Alternatively, I loved the Prodigy in the past,,, I really love the latest "Invaders must die" album, Omen and Thunder are gorgeous for dancing and partying.

OK, back to Ae. I recognized they are on Warp20:Recreated with an LFO "What is House" remix. Hasn't this been discussed here?

My opinion: Crap. What a crap. They put the "What is house" voice through some (vst) fx and that's basically it. What a shame.

I don't see how you could call Confield a 'major' album without calling Draft 7.30 and Untilted 'major' albums also. Furthermore, Quaristice is most certainly THE most 'major' album they have ever released, what with the alternate versions and Quadrange...

i think it's quite a shame too, whatever AE is trying to display with the new style of remix they do where the original track is barely touched i think it's pretty boring. The Black Dog remix they did recently was pretty good, they did more than just slow down the track and/or ad an effect to it

Yes. Oh I'm sorry, I'm not a native english speaker. I meant Confield is their last Album which has greatness (my personal opinion!). Well, Draft was still alright, but not great. Except Surripere.

Come on, we all probably prefered rdj over the Prodigy of course, but anyway, Prodigy live are big fun. Honestly, haven't had that much fun with ae live. Seen them in Cologne once (don't know the year, it was when []pusher gave us his red hot one;-) - typically for Sean and Rob, they stood there, did their job and suddenly disappeared. The music was great, put it's not for partying.

Back to, topic: Any more thoughts on the latest ae rmx?

Hey, Wurstwasser, if you think that AE aren't party music then maybe you should check out their Quaristice tour liveset, it's fucking awesome. It's banging while retaining that AE vibe. The download section is down right now so hold tight, I'll get it uploaded somewhere. Stay tuned.

Quaristice tour, Untitled tour live sets Glasgow + Hemsby, those three contains epic bits.

And Ae's albums are all good. It's just a matter of taste.

I dunno as long as I dont run into stupid money problems I should be good to go. I found round trip airfare from ottawa to somerset for $237 CAD. Probably will end up being more but it looks like the whole thing, tickets and airfare will land me around $450-$500

As for this thread, Draft 7.30 is one of my favorite albums. Aside from that, I've not heard anyone say anything particularly positive about the Ae remix of that LFO track.
