Apparently it's only for the 360 version of Modern Warfare, and is capped at 250K GBP - considering how much people play MW2, they could easily double or quadruple the amount donated. Kinda lame.

This is how all these "charity" things are. They always cap it off. just like with the yogurt lids that go for breast cancer or whatever, it says "we donate $1 for every lid we recieve" followed by .3 font stating *maximum $500k or some shit. I love how it's all like "LETS MAKE A DIFFERENCE! PLAY THAT FUCKING GAME ALL WEEKEND AND BE A GOOD PERSON" when in reality the amount of money they make off of it is much more than they give... I mean it's good they wanna help out, but it's bs the way they present it.
