Michna - Magic Monday

Anyone check this album out yet? It's out on Ghostly. I'm digging it. Some nice production / programming, a healthy dose of sample manipulation as well as live instrumentation (dude plays Trombone). The brass reminds me a little of Orbital's "Way Out" on Middle of Nowhere but he definitely has his own sound going on throughout.

Feel free to disagree, but for me, Michna's music - and this album in particular - is helping to fill the void left by RDJ, Global Goon, and a young FSOL.

Yeah, his stuff is quite nice. He produces some great dirty electro under the name eggfooyoung, and he was also a part of Secret Frequency Crew on Schematic/Counterflow. I saw him play with the Raw Paw band at the Ghostly 10th Anniversary show in LA, also fantastic.

Yeah it's a good album, though not at the level of Secret Frequency Crew.

This came out in 08, btw.
