I used to play people who never heard anything more electronic than daft Punk Winnipeg is a dogshit dildo in my car, the looks on their faces were hilarious

Sounds like good times. :emotawesomepm9:

I had a bunch of my friends listen to select parts from that album today at lunch. I got quite a few laughs from the sound samples.

I quite like that album.

venetian snares is fun to play very loud to people who dont have much experience of electrnoic music indeed.

Haha my buddy Marc has hated all Vsnares I've showed him, mostly. 2 days ago I showed him Winnipeg is a Frozen Shithole and he really really liked it

i've realized that while playing vsnares for friends for the "wow" factor is fun

I used to do this but then I realized that people would think I was a freak for listening to such weird music and wouldn't accept any of my music recommendations afterward

i've given up on trying to expose friends to good music that i'm into. they listen to it, say "hey, that's some cool techno!", but you know that they're just going to go back to listening to ska in five minutes. fuck em, i'll keep it too myself, i don't need their validation.

What a strange guy, haha. I have a friend sort of like that; he likes all the fast Vsnares stuff, à la Meathole, but hates anything overly aggressive. It's difficult to find stuff he likes.

i've realized that while playing vsnares for friends for the "wow" factor is fun, playing xanopticon is exponentially better, makes vsnares sound like 60s hippy pop in comparison.

I want to listen to Xanopticon, any suggestions as to where I should start?

My friends still let me suggest them stuff, oddly.

I just have Liminal Space and a few rips off myspace, but it's all good, and all kinda the same. I'm not huge into the guy or anything but he makes some cool sounds.

I always played 54 cymru beats to my friends. None of them take my recommendation seriously anymore, and that song is kickass too. Lucky I have another circle with a real taste too.

well then you would think that you'd understand the concept of a friend...or was she a family member? or maybe a retarded girl that you take care of for money?

LOL @ retarded girl for $. That was good. Naw, new lady friend. I've had fun exposing her to teh Braindance the past couple weeks too. She's taken to it quite well, but she is of the open minded type. I reckon, to keep in theme with the thread, Imma have to show her Winnipeg this week when I see her. Also, I gotta say, in my defense, I didn't even really have the net till I was 17-18, and that was shit dial-up. The whole friend thing was just a sad attempt at humor.
