Guest hahathhat
i swear to god i've seen korg ms2000 rack in a 1U form factor (as opposed to the usual 4U or 5U or whatever it is). however, i can't seem to find any references to it on the 'net. it's entirely possible i'm melding the ms2000 with some other VA like the virus (which DOES have a 1U) but i figured i'd ask here to be sure... anyone else remember a 1U ms2000? kakapo
You not thinking of the Korg Trinity rack, that was 1u? Guest chunky
think it could be done. the main audio circuit board is small. reminded me of the alpha juno 1 board, only with modern smd components. i can't wait for these dumb companies to acknowledge the popularity of analogue filters/oscillators. the new synths in that case will be amazing, full polyphony, really small, etc Edited December 13, 2009 by chunky Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/51499-ms2000-1u-rack/#findComment-1187131 Share on other sites
Brandi_B
it certainly is feasible, but there's never been a commercial one released. If you've seen one it was a DIY project. Of course, that takes away all the fun knobs, so i'm not sure why someone would want to do that. Especially b/c ms2000 racks on ebay are only around 250 dollars. http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=12 ^that's the only place i can think that you could find an answer. Guest hahathhat
thanks for the answers... guess i'm imagining it. i have an ms2000 rack already. these days, i mostly control it via a novation remote, so i got all the knobs i need over midi. a 1U rack ms2000 would take up a lot less space, more portability... and give me additional voices, since i'd keep my 4u rack ms2000 even if i got a 1U ms2000. You could build something similar on the cheap, make it light weight and its just a box with cables running out.
