This is Mr Pants' proposed soundtrack to forming a cult. Don't go expecting any Charles Manson-esque folk shenanigans here though, this is a psychedelic slab of hip hop weirdness, infused with fuzzy Broadcast-like retro electronics, faintly silly vocals (that do actually sound as though they've been delivered whilst wearing a robe) and an inexplicable over-enthusiasm for sleigh bells - I know it's December and all but this definitely isn't a Christmas thing. There's much fun to be had here, and Pants' use of big, bassy reverb chamber drum production combines evocatively, in a Silver Apples sort of way, with scorching synth lines.

seriously though, for any one who liked his last album, this one's even fucking better. Great stuff. Album snuck in last minute to fit in to one of my favorites of 09.

Downloaded but not unzipped yet, it's my incentive to get all my shit done first. Samples alone sound great though, and his recent ST podcast was shithot. The man's underrated.

it's pretty good. not great, but real infectious.

Not too shabby, an increase in quality since Welcome, imo (although it had its moments). His 3rd album should be white-hot.
