thehauntingsoul
I'm almost kind of disappointed with myself for not discovering this track's existence earlier. I noticed it in one of the recent threads in here and after a few listens I feel this is one of the solidest tracks I've heard. Great throwback to the Tri Rep/Chiastic Slide era. If you like Ae and you have not heard this, sort that shit out pronto! It almost sounds like it was constructed using a similar sound palette as the Sonic the Hedgehog games for some reason. Goiter Sanchez
In the liner notes of the 'Elements' 2XCD it says that Puch was created in 1994 while Sean and Rob were touring in Australia; hence it was put out on an exclusively Australian compilation. homecharlie
Liner notes from Elements CD: "On a Friday in December '94 Rob Brown and Sean Bototh (AKA Autechre) played to a small but wondrous crowd in a large Collingwood warehouse. The amorphous live rendition of Flutter glistened. That weekend, exposed to the Victorian coast's crisp skies, breaking waves and stark rock forms, Autechre wrote Yarra. The phonetically challenged pair have since renamed it Puch. Autechre tweak and tinker their machines into existence purfektly" Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/51540-puch/#findComment-1188441 Share on other sites

(that has no affiliation with joyrex or his website) This song has been released, just on an obscure compilation... if you're looking for a comprehensive list of compilation-only tracks (i.e. which do not reappear on Autechre's albums) check out the spreadsheet I posted in the "treasure hunters" thread.
