Is this shit for real? I was reading about this guy today somewhere...holy fuck is this ever terrible. It makes british hip-hop look good.

The first like 5 seconds I was though it was like a 9th wonder kind of sound, that would be alright, but then the beat drops and it's like...well. Just watch.

there is good canadian hip hop out there, a lot of it is hard to come by though.

gotta get it in the STREETS yo .. or phonographique.com is not a bad site, i suppose.

i know lots of good new hip hop coming out of alberta and sk. and manitoba if anyone wants some recommendations ?

i dont think anyone actually cares about canadian hip hop though. i certainly dont as much as i once did.

(also, classified sucks)

a) That album is great

b) it's not hip-hop

c) has tricky done anything worth getting since pre-millenium tension?

indeed, it is trip-hop.

I don't hear a whole lot of rapping on the album. Great album though.

and I don't really consider trip-hop vs hip-hop as splitting hairs.

Some massive attack tracks are hip-hop, like blue lines and daydreaming. I'd call portishead's first two albums hip-hop amongst other things (haven't heard third). It's just a british take on hip-hop.

I will actually give you blue lines and daydreaming, as they have one of the four elements. But portishead? really? what are they putting in the water down there in australia?

At least you like Main Source - two guys from Toronto..one guy from Queens.

aron..cheers man:) You don't have to find youtube links for all them...just names and so on...

This is a guy that I used to teach with in Seoul...he's based out of hamilton now...

there is actually quite a lot of really good old school UK hip hop. can't really attest for what comes out now though.

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

yeah there isnt a lot of great UK hip hop, a couple of tracks have stood out a little ...

i wouldnt be caught dead listening to any of it though

yeah, i was just being pedantic, sorry. the last thing i bought in canada hip-hop related was an album by Braze. it wasn't bad, didn't blow me away mind you. and classified, well, he's a bit like girly cocktails. a couple of sips are alright, but you wouldn't wanna drink that shit all night.
