Video clip of me fx mashing with traktor and mpd24

IMO Traktor's fx are better than any vsts I have ever used. As long as your beatgrids in traktor are setup properly. The time based fx sync up perfectly to what is going on. As of writing this, the newest version lets you use up to 12 chained fx at one time. That's what I have setup here. 12 pads that turn the effect on when they are held down. Once you memorize which pad controls each effect, the fun begins!

hmm...i switched to deckadance. I usd traktor foryear and was fine but when i upgraded i just didn't liekit anymore all ofa sudden and fell in love with deckadance.

I may have to check out one of those akai controllers. I used to love akai samplers before the mpcs got so big. How are the knobs on that thing? Smooth, or too rigid to make super fast tweaks?

They are endless rotary knobs. I have the top 4 knobs set to scroll through cue points, and the bottom 4 control the low end on the eq. To do a full sweep between 0-127 requires more turning than I would like. Thankfully with the bass I have it set to 0-62. 62 is the magic number that brings traktor's eq to 0db. I'm never really cranking the bass. just dropping it out or adding it back in. Since it's an endless knob I can't really know what value it's at unless I set a max value. or stare at the screen intently. But the way I have it setup like this works wonderfully. I am using bank b in this video for the pads. While bank a makes the pads perform all the primary functions like play/sync, tempo bend - and + and making the loop mode active or inactive.

yeah, i need knobs that don't take forever to turn to max. I've tried most of the more affordable controllers at stores and such, this is one of the few I haven't, but for the most part they are all lacking something that bothers me. I'm thinking that I'm just gonna grab the korg nano knobs and pads for now and hopefully be able to afford a nord g2 in a few months! That will solve all of my controller and synth and general music issues :)

BUt yeah I meant to mention i like your rather hyper active approach in this vid. That's pretty much how I am.

Honestly I was intentionally overdoing it for the sake of the video. I rarely ever use the fx when recording a mix, and I only do this in moderation when playing out. It's good fun when some chin strokers are watching to see what you're doing and you can bust out like that to make them fuck off after they realize you are in fact doing something.
