Interesting documentary I stumbled upon

Includes interviews with early electronic pioneers (kraftwerk, klaus schulze,...) so i'd reckon some people here would like to see this.

Sorry if it's jazzband

If you can't be bothered to watch it all, at least look at part 3 around 8:30 too look at Kraftwerk's first television performance, or part 6 where they claim that Brian Eno and David Bowie stole some ideas

Great documentary, though I was disappointed that there was no mention of Manuel Göttsching/Ashra/Ash Ra Tempel. He was more important than Amon Duul II by far. E2-E4 alone is legendary.

is Sir Not Appearing In This Documentary. He might have got a brief mention, but they focussed more on the other guys from Cluster.

It's quite strange, actually seeing Krautrock people in the flesh. I got into the music largely through Krautrocksampler, so I always kind of think of them as these primal, godlike beings. Whereas they're just a bunch of softly spoken middle aged German dudes. Damo is the only one who lives up to his legend, he is fucking heroic.

good grief .. and ther i was thinking that synth britania was just a collection of crappy mainstream synth band clips, from sparks to the hairspraywave stalwarts of the 80's .. someone must've mislabelled the torrent .. or been playing pranks damn them ... anyway .. youtube has us sorted so it doesn't matter (hurt) too much ..

ashh i see where i fukt up with the synth britannia thing. There's a second program called synth britannia at the bbc, which you definitely don't need to see.

and.. conrad schnitzler?

I haven't heard his solo stuff, but he wasn't in Tangerine Dream or Kluster long. All their best albums were made without him. Doesn't seem like he really left that much of a lasting impression in comparison to the other artists. I haven't seen his name used often in any references to Krautrock/Berlin School music.
