Dragon Age: Origins

Who's playing? Pretty slick game so far...

My mate got it.

I didnt see him for 2 weeks.

This was a week before important college exams.

Im afraid to get it.

I went for the city elf rogue story... no spoilers other than to say I PAINTED THE WALLS RED WITH THEIR BLOOD!

Could be, I'm going dualweild combat style - not big on stealth... But since I'll probably have multiple playthroughs, I don't mind.

i played a human rogue and maxed dual wield. backstab is a killer, like it is in all these games. there's also a skill that deals backstab damage to stunned enemies and there are two attacks that pretty much automatically stun enemies. so useful.

mages are the most powerful in this game, no doubt. especially when they get cone of cold. use that and then use a special rogue attack that deals a critical hit with contact... it shatters your enemies. pretty awesome imo. i used that combo throughout the second part of the game after i finally got cone of cold. and all that shit about friendly fire... it's not bad enough to keep you from getting the most powerful spells. i was pretty hesitant to get area spells, but i caved in and didn't regret spending skill points on them.

i like this game way too much.

I play DDO occassionally.. and I overheard while playing the other day regarding elves from a dwarf:

"...in the dark, all elves be female!"

My wife wants this because she liked Oblivion so much that we spent weeks in front of the tv leveling skills, and she's been lurking around here, so can we make this a cons thread instead of a pros thread plz?

i finished it on ps3 as a castless dwarf warrior/tank, ace game, and very addictive. just started a new character on pc as a human noble, seems nowhere near as fun though.

i quit playing world of warcraft about a year ago, after 4+ years of raiding etc, can't say i really miss it, dragon age felt like a temporary and healthy wow fix though.

I thought it had too much dialogue heh.

I kinda like how streamlined the conversation process is in Mass Effect, with this game it just felt like I was trying to exhaust every single dialogue tree with someone in order for them to give me access to some top secret weapon and I'd still inevitable die with it after getting to some combat finally after 3 hours.

I just ordered it. I plan on skipping my exam and play Dragon Age instead.

I caved and got it. My first character was a mage, which is essentially useless, since you get two more in your party within three hours, if you go to the Circle Tower for allies first. My second was a rogue, because I got crazy pissed I was missing out on all the locked chests and doors. 2nd character did sex to both the elf and the witch, then the elf made me choose who I got to continue fucking. Picked the witch because she doesn't sound like a crappy Antonio Banderas impersonator. Got to the archdemon in 22 hours, lost six times in a row, reloaded an earlier game to level the wimps in my party so they can use bows.

edit; I'm guessing this thread died because everyone else is busy playing.

I pirated this a few weeks ago, I like it a lot, it reminds me of those somewhat older flawless RPGs. My PC hardware is utter shit though, so I have to keep the eye candy to a minimum which is a shame. I'm a Mage atm, cold spells are very good like Hoodie said, but Sleep + Waking Nightmare (or Horror) can be good too, heh.

My only complaint is that it's a little bit too similar to older RPGs. For example: it's always the same when you're helping an important character in a quest so that he will support you against that Blight thing "Oh thank thee for exterminating the bandits, but now another problem has arisen, could you help me out one more time."
