using dj hero controller as midi interface

Recommended Posts

seems to be a burgeoning area of interest...

the first thing i thought when i laid hands on that controller was 'you could do IDM with that'

a dj hero controller/wiimote via bluetooth connection combo could be even more interesting

isn't this like 200 bucks? You could get an m-audio or similar actual controller off ebay for that price. And have it already set up (plus more controls) and be decently useable. But i guess there's novelty in using a game controller?

i checked price grabber, there was one for 99 and one for 200. Not sure of the difference or if it was sales data for the 99 dollar ones.

it was about €80, and i didn't buy it to use as a midi controller, but it's there now...

oh. you made the movie? in that case, sorry for being a jerk. I generally dislike gimmick stuff like using a guitar hero guitar to play 5 midi notes and stuff like that. some if it might be useful, but yeah.

no. i mean the controller is there now so i might as well see what hax i can come up with. it's the xbox version, so i guess that's bluetooth?

and the most interesting thing, i guess, is that the deck is a big-ass velocity-sensitive rotary encoder with three trigger buttons on it. that could be interesting.
