How can I make my drums sound real?

I'm making a drum and bass track with samples I got from various sites.

Are there any techniques I can use to make them sound as if there is an actual drummer playing them?

I used a bit of envelope. I don't know if that helped or not.

Good quality samples. Multi velocity sampled drums. Crafty Midi programming/editing. Velocity variations. Or chop up loops.
