Guest echidna
does anybody use this? i'm trying to grab this to see if it'll help with some cubase latency issues, but it seems like the site is down, and i can't find a mirror for the executable. if anybody has it available, it would be rad if you could send it to me. Brandi_B
website works for me. http://www.asio4all.com/ It's a great program. I used it until I got a decent interface for my laptop when I first got it. Certainly worked better than onboard audio drivers. Guest bigs
i've had alarming success with it at times... but in general it leads to some crazy clipping-sounding static. Guest hahathhat
i get the impression this isn't worth it, unless you have some laptop soundcard or something cheap with shit drivers? am i wrong? i mean, my soundcard is very fancy and has drivers written by german engineers with no sense of humor and even less interest in anything except perfecting audio technology. i will try this on my laptop, however, because it just has... whatever it has in there edit: to clarify, this is just if you don't have native ASIO drivers, or shit ones, correct? maybe not even if you have shit ones? Pretty much any low end interface with asio drivers will perform mch better than asio4all, but if you just have a laptop or older desktop, with onboard sound and either no, or crap asio drivers, this is a wonderful solution until you get yourself a decent interface/card. There used to be something for soundblaster live cards that turned them into decent cards w/ drivers that i used around 99 before getting a good audio card. I can't remember the name, but it gave you a mixer and everything, made a run of the mill sound blaster card into a low end pro-audio card.
