Happy near year! Maybe we will get an album this year?

I sure hope so. It would be a highlight of the year, obviously.

Interesting. Held up for a year for issues outside their control. Contractual maybe or sample clearance?

Maybe they were on a three album deal with Warp and are/were negotiating a better deal with them or someone else.

Maybe Warp weren't happy with their new direction.

Maybe BoC weren't happy with the finished material.

I guess all the above is within the band's control, and chances are we'll never find out until it's released and they do a few interviews.

We already have the new Plaid album confirmed this year, hopefully some new Aphex Twin as well; BOC is the main anticipation for me though.

Yeah, I'm really not expecting them to release much else after this album, other then the (plz plz plz) BoCset. And if they claim to be releasing another album (a million years from now), I will have to disregard it for my own sanity and assume that they have finished. I'm not going through this waiting again. A human can only take so much, especially when they've heard the magic of Boards of Canada...

Had a bit of a BoC renaissance lately and started enjoying them again. I'm pretty certain nowt will materialise though, and couldn't give a toss now if they've fucked off for good.

If it does come out, my guess will be that it is better than TCH but not as good as MHTRTC or Geogaddi. I'm more excited for Oversteps and the possibility of new Aphex Twin material; but really, I'll just be happy if it comes out. I have been waiting for this too.

I read that The Sexual Objects LP is due out this year and that one, or both, of BoC have had a hand in the production. This i'm sure has taken up a chunk of their time but hey, c'mon guys, priorities yeah?

Don't get me wrong I like the BOC. But Autechre have done plenty of stuff in the last few years, Richy Boy has blessed us with loads of Analords and a new Warp album is def due soon. Nice one fellas!

They had better be cooking up something worthwhile in their lab/nuclear bunker/Wickerman island/where ever it maybe. Because if this new album is pants then they will look ridiculous. I might just get naked and fuck a goat if its good but if it aint....

A classic example of why these blokes wind me up, is the Peel session cd. Why on earth would you leave out XYZ? These guys are clever because by doing fuck-all and winding us up they get people more interested. It's nothing new Led Zeppelin did the same, no interviews, four symbols, hints of paganisim and black magic. So it's just taking a leaf from their book only they (BoC) are far more lazy, slightly more arrogant and its starting to wear thin.

So fellas if you and your pal MDG are reading this, just pull your finger out and get it done. Because there's a nice looking goat over on Uncle Farmer Barleymows field that I want to fuck.
