Aleksi Perälä - Boom Blaster

so i finally listened to this album and it is damn damn good IMO. lush, epic, many parts remind of astrobotnia part 3. fuck, all i need now is the new aphex album on warp

Yeah, it's really good. It sounds a ton like his Astrobotnia stuff, which is by no means bad (I love the Astrobotnia releases). I really love the sorts of bass he uses.

The only song I don't like is "The Moon," it just sounds really bad through my headphones.

Papa Don't Preach is my favorite on this

i really like this record. one of the great strenght of Herr Peräla, is the subtile charm of his music. its not spectacular, not always catchy or "in your face" but always warm & inspired. + that pastoral & freshness (cliché?) that i associate with his tune. always cool, never boring. probably my favorite rephlex roster along karen tregaskin.

Mmm it's quite nice, yes.

I'm really enjoying this. I thought the LP last year was great, and the album is more of the same.

What LP was released last year?

the boom blaster 12", is what I meant. had 'no music', 'multiverse', 'voyager' and 'the moon' on it.

well i said warp because a new album is supposed to be released on warp. though i'd be more excited by new 'AFX' material on rephlex yeah
