the ones i put graphics up for are the more obscure films that you may have missed.

Edited by Awepittance

1 - the assassination of jesse james by the coward robert ford - a masterpiece

2 - mulholland drive - liked this better than inland empire, but both films are lynch masterpieces.

3 - lilja 4-ever - a devastating film. as powerful as it gets.

4 - mister lonely - a tender side of harmony korine. perversely tender.

5 - the piano teacher - cache didnt hold a candle to this. searing filmmaking.

6 - spirited away - really need to watch this one again. amazing film.

7 - there will be blood - huge leap for pta.

8 - the proposition - another western tinged masterpiece by an australian.

9 - avatar - thematically its on the weak side but absolutely amazing in its technical achievements.

10 - shotgun stories - an amazingly understated and intense film.

and id say michael shannon is the best actor to gain prominence in the 00s. hes probably my favorite actor at the moment.
