this movie looks decent, but why do movie studios always do this type of competing concepts. Didn't the Road come out like 2 weeks ago? Reminds me of the Armageddon VS Deep Impact era

i still can't get over how badly stylized, or should i say totally un stylized and unrealistic looking post apocalyptic aesthetics in modern popcorn flicks look

just look how fucking white washed the mad max look has become, make a few cars look battle ready and dress people up in too many layers for no reason = instant shit post apocalyptic

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

Gotta say though, the way Terminator's post-apocalyptic stuff looks was decided on way back in 84. Yes, Mad Max happened in 79 but still...I'm pretty sure lots of films these days are simply following the trends from those two.

 

And hell yeah I'd dress in layers! Nuclear winter = fucking cold!

funny thing is how the 3D from the game looks much better than the 3D from the film, at that scale. They really nailed the lighting and mood in Fallout 3, I'm very fond of what Bethesda accomplished there with the Gamebryo engine.

Denzel Washington is a bad ass motherfucker! and in this movie

he is going to kick the living crap out of every blackhearted waste of space

that gets in his way.

 

i just wish he could do it without hurting anybody, but these days we have to take what we can get

as far as half way decent Biblical themes in blockbuster films.

You know, Troon, I'll give movie the benefit of the doubt, and I'll go see it because I dig on things like this for the most part...however any of you who seem to think that the trailer's images don't SCREAM Fallout 3 have probably not played that game enough to know. Even the dude in the goggles/gas mask in the intro sort of brings to mind the power armor from the game...

 

Granted, I'm all about post-apocalyptic nonsense. "Eli" is probably good for a mindless action flick, so if I expect that I'm sure I'll dig it.

Haha I've already made a bunch of joke tracks that sample the hell out of Coach, one of the characters in L4D2. Nothing like some heavy breaks with "DA BITCH IS CHOKIN ME" over the top.

ive played fallout 3 and i think its bullshit personally. Post-apocalyptic setting, desaturated colors, you dont need to play fallout 3 to imagine a broken overpass or an abandoned road after the apocalypse. The city shown in that BoE screen also looks much more like a old-west ghost town (it looks more residential/commercial) than the ruins of DC in fallout, which are much more urban. But whatever, fallout 3 was/is overrated.
