i completely forgot that it was CGI until the part with the little cloud hovering above the tree. i don't know if that says more about the CGI or my idiocy, but draw from it what you will

so they modeled actual buildings in the computer then made books fly around? is that what this was? or was it footage of buildings with CGI books over it?

the books are models too. So are the cameras. Everything's a model except the parts fishtank listed above.

I'm curious how he did the trees, probably speed tree or another plugin. It's really quite beautiful.

the only thing I didn't like was the way the leaves on the trees moved. It was cool, but unrealistic in that the certain branches that I would expect to be moving as well stayed completely static wheras the small branches would bend. For their small size and that level of wind I would expect the entire trunk to be swaying. The lighting was near perfect but the physics was my only gripe.

Has anyone been able to download the MP4 of this from Vimeo? Each time I try I get the message that it's been downloaded to the limit. I want the full HD version so I can show my wife this on the bigscreen TV...

That particular video has been hit by cgtalk and other such graphical sites, thus vimeo caps the amount of downloads. You can always pay for a membership and get it that way.

It was one spanish guy too, not a team.
