Our Future - Your Clutter is the working title of a forthcoming album by The Fall. It will be the group's 28th studio album, and their first for independent record label Domino. The album was recorded between The Chairworks, Castleford and Elevator Studios, Liverpool.

As with the group's last album, 2008's Imperial Wax Solvent, the line-up consists of Mark E. Smith (vocals), Elena Smith (keyboards/vocals), Dave 'The Eagle' Spurr (bass), Peter Greenway (guitar) and Keiron Melling (drums). The album is being produced by Ross Orton and Mark E. Smith.

According to the band's press officer, the release date has been put back to 'April 2010'.

There's a disturbing lack of info on this. All I can say is that it'll automatically be one of the albums of the year.

Sorry, meant in general, wasn't a dig at this thread. I miss the days when there was a guaranteed Fall album at least every year, although looking at MES now it's just a relief he's still breathing.

wonderful and frightening was a real disappointment for me. i just don't like it that much. even now after many listens. it has its moments (gavin friday is good) but i've never understood the hype it gets.

the last album has had a lot of plays recently and i didnt like it that uch when i first heard it.

gonna give the new one a headphone first listen tonight

1 – O.F.Y.C. Showcase

good opener. ends well too.

2 – Bury Pts. 1 + 3

the album version starts with a section that goes for way too long which is really lofi. nice touch but so long. growing on me

3 – Mexico Wax Solvent

funk bass line kills. drunk guy sings. very good.

4 - Cowboy George

great drumming. love the radio shit at 3mins. nice ending. like it.

5 – Hot Cake

repeating guitar line made me grit my teeth. bad sign. not sure.

6 – Y.F.O.C. / Slippy Floor

sloppy floor is pretty fucking rocking

7 - Chino

hypnotic bass

8 - Funnel Of Love

a cover huh. pretty catchy. the late period fall covers usually sound like bad karoake though. musically sound though. odd for mes to be the weak link in the fall. if he didnt write the lyrics then he can be

9 - Weather Report 2

i love the new fall stuff with elenas keyboards, the acidic bass on this sounds great. ditch the guitars for the next album umkay. was the best stuff on the last album too. catchy chorus too. reminds me of 90s fall (in a good way).

weather report and mexico wax solvent favorites on first listen

overall no idea

hmm i misphrased it - i've got them all until wonderful and frightening so far. so peverted by the language is the most recent one i have. and yeah, it's pretty different (cause of brix, who i saw hosting some horrible tv show the other day too) but i still like it a lot.

so you're buying them in order and you're at wonderful and frightening? my least favorite up to then is room to live. can't really stand that one. no redeeming features.

brix is on that gok wan show my wife watches. very odd.

This is the best Fall album in a long time. Since 'Light User Syndrome', I'd say. His lyrics and voice sound great and he has a tight band.

always different, always the same

I bought this on Saturday at my local indie record shop. They also had the vinyl with the two extra tracks, so definitely out.

I went to see them do the album live last night (on the guestlist cause i am a cool dude yeah). fucking excellent. a soundman's nightmare. plus the intro audio visual noise cut up of black sabbat live was amazing. 10 minutes of a 1 second looped guitar chord with the accompanying vidoe footage of ozzy's hair flaping about (where he comes out of a head bang and you just get his hair flapping upwards then down again)... occasionally extending for an extra second into a drum fill then back into the power chord loop drone (all with reverb on). It was like merzbow or keiji haino if they were any good. Also did the same thing with a 1 or 2 second loop of Prince performing purple rain live (right in the middle of a screaming high note from the solo) overlaid with a repetetive vocal loop. Hadn't heard the album prior to the gig so i was hoping it would involve some of that A/V cut up looping shit in it. such a simple idea, brilliantly executed. God bless Mark E Smith. And i had a go at Toby Anstiss for standing in front of my bird.
