The Clark Effect

Can someone tell me, at 2.10, what effect is being used?

At first I thought it might just be the gain turned up. But then the quality goes to shit.

Is it overdrive or just a particular synth he uses.

Cheers.

Hard to tell with this shitty youtube compressed audio clip, also does 'it' start/end at 2.10, be more specific. Just before that newer section drops @ 2.10, more than one thing seems to happen.

It starts at 2.10, the sorta growly bass.

Someone mentioned Virus?

try this:

Cyanide

That's an awesome VST. I just used it to mess around with some bass sound and I couldn't believe how easy it was to make it sound nice and harsh.

parallel compression, very short attack, moderate release, brickwall limiting 1:10+++ and he opens up the "wet"

i guess its downsampled several times and compressed again, since i tried to emply the same technique and came up with adequate results only after several bounces and re-compression
