Have you ever woken up and realised you fucking love a track?

Sometimes I wake up and a song that really hadn't grown on me just suddenly makes sense. I go and listen to it and I think its the best shit ever.

Am I the only one here?

Happened to me only a few times, not really ever with an instrumental I don't think, but sometimes I all of a sudden could relate the lyrics of a song really fucking well that made me see it in a different perspective.

It's happened to me a few times, sometimes I wake up with a melody totally ingrained in my head and takes me all day to remember what song it is and I love it from then on. Happened to me with lots of Animal Collective stuff particularly Person Pitch by Panda Bear, very sleepy album

for some reason "A Higher Place" by Royksopp didn't really click until i woke up with it in my head one day. now i love it a lot. hooray for its long-delayed bass.

yeah this has happened to me a few times. Normally when i'm really high and i listened to it, whilst in a deep meditative state i have it ingrain in my head the next morning, A good example is Aphex Twin's track heliosphan. Such beautiful, enchanting melodies that sound like they are from another dimension.

happened to me with pavement - gold soundz. i had a dream that i was on stage with stephen malkmus and he handed me a guitar and said "you play right?" and apparently spiral stairs had just died so i had to play. i had no idea how to play, but at this point i started lucid dreaming and for some reason chose to play gold soundz (which i still had no idea how to play). then i woke up and went to work and i was listening to that track the whole time and it hit me that pavement is a pretty good band.

i'm still not really into them, but they're a good band. and that song in particular is really beautiful. a lot of crooked rain and wowee zowee stands out, i'm just not a fan of their stuff after that.

this kind of thing used to happen to me a lot with electronic music. it happened with autechre, happened with fennesz. usually the harder something is to get into, the more i listen to it, and often it clicks overnight, or while i'm doing something else.

this happened to me with haircut 100's love plus one track back in the 80s... but that was after a wank!

i've noticed a few times, something will seem bad to me. then i'll have it stuck in my head for days, which forces me to like it

This happened to me, but with Gang Gang Dance's 'St Dymphna'.

Hmmm, shouldn't have owned up to that, probably be more appropriate in the guilty pleasures thread.
