SR4
I was maintaining my hard drive full of shit, and I realized that the one release I do not have on hard copy or indeed ever listened to was AB3.1...can someone tell me the difference between that and 3? Are there the same tracks on both releases? Are there tracks on 3.1 that are not on 3? help me out plz. Dragon
OK, here's the deal. Analogue Bubblebath 3 is one of the most confusing releases in history. There are four distinct releases: An original LP, a CD (with an identical re-release version), a vinyl with 4 tracks (Analogue Bubblebath 3.1) and a vinyl re-release of the CD version The original LP version of Analogue Bubblebath 3: A1. ".215061" – 4:16 A2. ".000890569" – 4:31 A3. ".38" – 0:38 A4. ".0180871" - 4:10 B5. ".55278037732581" – 4:18 B6. ".942937" – 4:31 B7. ".1993841 (edit)" – 5:43 B8. "AFX 6/b" – 0:31 B9. [sound of needle scratch] ".38" and the needle scratch sound at the end (both written in bold) are exclusive to this version of AB3. Track 4, ".0180871", is actually two tracks, one in the left channel and one in the right. Then came the CD version, which is the most complete version and contains everything except two tracks and a sound effect. Two of the tracks (".215061" and ".000890569") are longer edits of tracks on the original version, and ".1993841", rather than an edit, appears in its entirety. The two tracks within ".0180871" are separated into two different tracks on the CD. The CD version re-arranges the original tracklist and introduces five new tracks which have never been officially titled. Three of them later appear on Analogue Bubblebath 3.1, and of the two "CD only" tracks, only the first one later appears on vinyl (don't worry, the other is just Richard wanking in a shower). 1. ".215061 (CD edit)" – 3:54 2. ".1993841" – 8:03 3. ".0180871 (right channel)" – 4:16 4. ".942937" – 4:37 5. ".0180871 (left channel)" – 3:52 6. ".000890569 (CD edit)" – 4:48 7. ".55278037732581" – 4:20 8. Untitled (AB3.1 track AA1) – 4:05 9. Untitled (AB3.1 track A1) – 5:06 10. "AFX 6/b" – 0:36 11. Untitled (CD only track 1) – 4:41 12. Untitled (CD only track 2)– 0:53 13. Untitled (AB3.1 track A2) – 5:14 There is a bathwater drain sound effect right at the end of the CD. Now we move onto Analogue Bubblebath 3.1. This was an attempt to release some of the CD-only tracks onto good quality vinyl, but only three of the five tracks appeared. Strangely, it also introduces a new, hidden track. It's not music, it just consists of Richard and his friends talking about "smelly cunts" and "shit smothered on the microphone". The tracklist: A1. Untitled (AB3 track 9) - 5:06 A2. Untitled (AB3 track 13)* - 5:05 AA1. Untitled (A3 track 8) - 4:14 (locked groove) AA2. Untitled (Smelly Cunts) - 2:26 *the sound effect at the end of the CD version of this track is moved to the start of the next track on side AA. Then, in 2002, Rephlex decided to re-release the complete CD version of Analogue Bubblebath 3 onto vinyl. Just one slight problem: it wasn't complete. A1. ".215061 (CD edit)" – 3:50 A2. ".000890569 (CD edit)" – 4:48 A3. ".0180871" – 4:11 B1. ".942937" – 4:31 B2. ".55278037732581" – 4:19 B3. ".0180871" – 3:52 C1. ".1993841" - 8:03 C2. Untitled (AB3.1 track AA1) – 4:05 D1. Untitled (AB3.1 track A1) - 5:06 D2. Untitled (AB3.1 track A2) – 5:14 D3. Untitled (CD only track 1) – 4:41 Of the 17 total tracks involved in Analogue Bubblebath 3, only 11 are included on this release. It should contain every track from the CD version, but notably missing is "AFX 6/b", the 12th track known as "CD only track 2", and the bubblebath sound effect at the end of the CD. Also missing, of course, is the vinyl-only material such as ".38", the "smelly cunts" track, and the needle-scratch sound effect. So, basically, the CD version gives you everything except a scratchy sound effect, ".38" and the "smelly cunts" track. I'd be happy to offer the latter via PM request, and maybe someone would be kind enough to post the others... Reveal hidden contents edit: nevermind Jesus that took forever to type. This thread should be pinned or something.
