You should check out Arve Henriksen, a Norwegian trumpet player. It's not necessarily jazz, but he has a release on ECM, so that should be jazz enough. Really good stuff.

Yo, my name is Saad and I don't give a fuck.

the reason i got excited about this music is because of the inclusion of electronic elements and specifically breakbeats... is any of that in arve's music?

Electronic elements, yes. Breakbeats, no. It's mostly "beatless" music, more ambienty stuff. But, man, it's good. It's definitely got that Norwegian vibe to it.

You should check out the Matthew Herbert remix of merciful by Nils Petter Molvær.

Ther are a lot of great Norwegian artists that combine bridge the acoustic and electronic worlds, not a lot of groups period that sound like Jaga these days though. Have you heard Lars Hortveth's (Jaga main man) two solo albums? That's probably as close as you can get, particularly with the first one (Pooka). Definitely also some good stuff on Rune Grammofon to check out. Not sure if it helps, but here are some of my favorites:

Biosphere (of course!)

Deathprod (strictly ambient)

Agree with the Arve recommendation, he also appears in Supersilent w/Deathprod

Alog

Opsvik & Jennings (Norwegian + American)

In The Country

Susanna and the Magical Orchestra

Cristian Wallumrod Ensemble

Svalastog

The White Birch

Thomas Strønen

Arve Henriksen's other band: Supersilent

Awesome free-improvised jazz with synth keyboard and noisemaking. Their album 6 and their live DVD 7 are particularly mindblowing.

Agreed with the above poster. Rune Grammofon has a lot of experimental-pop-jazz (for want of a better term).

all those people i haven't actually listened to with norwegian looking names on ECM.

LOL, their catalog is rather huge and intimidating

Check out Supersilent and Elephant9, Norway's by far best bands.

wikipedia describes supersilent as ambient; that's not at all what i want... will look into elephant9... i may just have to be content with jaga jazzist

edit: lol watched a supersilent video on youtube, not what i would call ambient but nonetheless too abrasive for my tastes

You've pretty much been sorted, but check out Humcrush and the Shining, most of the shit mentioned is more abrasive than Jaga, but good!

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Supersilent are 100% improvised, they never rehearse or discuss their music among themselves. So you never know what you'll get with them, and that means the full spectrum from super abrasive to the most beautiful textures. Don't give up too easy on them.

Their keyboardist Ståle Storløkken is a fricking wizard on the synths and organs. He plays in Elephant9 as well.
