Aw, I was excited but the actual music isn't 16-bit! Just the teasers.

Wha' ?!, I was about to buy some of their stuff straight away from listening to those teasers. Damn them with their teasing.

EDIT: Actually, having listened to the full version of the track featured in that second teaser it's not bad. It's very much in the Ed Banger style that about 95% of current mainstream dance music seems to use, but yeah, it's not bad...

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

why is there nostalgia for 16 bit music? Or is it specifically 16 bit music made with some kind of sound card?

Cause if it's 16 bit music you're after, pop in a CD and away you go...

fuck yeah me too, had something very interesting going in those teasers and its edbangerish hyper compressed dance

i'm glad when people think '16-bit nostalgia' they focus mostly on the FM synthesizer stuff like Sega Genesis, and mostly ignore sample based stuff like SNES (mostly because it leaves the territory unexploited, more fun for me )

and since when is Ed Banger mainstream? well known in the indie scene sure, but its not exactly Black Eye Peas.

not sure if mainstream is the right word, but it's pretty damn close as far as instrumental electronic music is concerned.

i hear SebAstian & Justice songs in car commercials... a lot

Yeah, I didn't really mean that music on the Ed Banger label was that mainstream - just that the sound that seems to have developed from the label seems to be used in a heck of a lot of music and promos etc. nowadays (certainly in the UK anyways)
