Harmonia & Eno '76

'Tracks and Traces' is so mind blowing for me personally. One of those records that just sounds out of place. I wonder how many people were into it back then. It is the music for me and am glad I'm just now hearing it.

Been listening to the other two Cluster & Eno records for a while now and they were upgraded in life by my hearing 'Tracks and Traces'.

I am sure a lot of you have heard this record already and either love it or don't think much of it, but I was listening to it last night and seemed to have an awakening because of it. Made me love music more than I already do. Thought you all should know and listen to these records if you haven't yet.

did this really need its own thread? there are both eno and cluster threads around.. in any case, i love that album

also, didnt this go unreleased for quite some time?

yes, it was necessary for those who don't read through threads to find out about this amazing side project by Eno...

and also the best way, imo, to be introduced to K/Cluster....

Rykodisc released the first version in '97, kind of an appropriate year as it sounds very idm to me....

this newest version has extra material and I think sounds better in quality...

I am sure some folks heard this material in the 70's, persons other than Eno and Harmonia/Cluster...

Glad people still have cassette players!

i remember i bought the ryko release in 98 or 99. it had that hideous white plastic case

Ryko was never one for great cover art...

it was more packaging, wasnt it? they had those ugly light green cd cases that they used for all their releases

made any cover look bad.....

yeah, true.. i wonder what the thought process behind that was. "itll make our releases stand out!"

I think that would be the only motivation....

with no question of color, or maybe people will think the covers are ugly?

Oh, it's from cassette .. I didn't realize. A couple of the tracks sound really weird and squishy and that must be why. But yeah Tracks And Traces is actually my favorite Eno & various Krautrockers release. Better than Cluster & Eno 1 even, IMO. It really hits the spot.
