any idear? the percussion that briefly drops in and out to me dates it as an early 90s track.. otherwise i'd say tangerine dream. pretty epic either way!

really reminds me of the score to "Sorcerer" by Tangerine Dream, but if you listen, you can hear the production values are different due to the time frame..

It does have hints of their later score work, like the music in Legend. But I am not sure. The sound at :32 reminds me a lot of Dawn Of The Dead. Not the music, the the sfx used in the film.

Any how, if you find out, I'd like to know.

I gave it a valiant effort and searched discogs, youtube and pandora. I wish you luck finding it, I agree with thanks robert moses that the sound effect at the 32 mark sounds like Day Of The Dead. Good luck man.

that's exactly how my friend found this track and he's been trying to ID it ever since.

I found it on Kazaa in late 2000 or early 2001. It was labeled "nine inch nails-shine." And that's all she'd written.

It's circulating in several NIN torrents including lots of non-NIN rares/boots lately, but I'm still no closer to tracking down the actual artist.

This track has a lot of similarities to the styles of Redshift and Tangerine Dream, but so far is neither. Tunatic had suggested Redshift.

This is gonna drive me insane now. Because I've heard something so similar to his, and recently (i.e. within the past 6 months.)

Reminds me a heck of a lot of early Vangelis esp the Albedo album but the drums are wrong, Albedo is too early.

Or else I'd say it was Zombi but again, the time frame is wrong, Zombi is too late.

It sounds like it's from the mid-Nineties to me, and like soundtrack music to boot. Perhaps a theme or something.

Mark of Redshift himself confirmed that the track was his, and I then found this audio sample with the information he gave me.

He said his catalog should be on iTunes soon, so keep an eye out for it.
