Caretstik
I quite liked St Dymphna but I'm not sure how much mileage is in it. Also, they've just signed to 4AD. I would like to see these live, ain't gonna happen anywhere near here in Norfolk though. Wow, big move. i wonder what inspired that? i thought they might release a proper album on warp. Saint Dymphna was a carry over from another label right? it wasn't even originally written for warp? i would have liked to have seen them write something specifically for warp. i can see Gang Gang Dance fitting in very well over at 4AD, i'm a big follower of that label as well. DCD, Cocteau Twins (of course) and Magnétophone just to name a few. Caretstik
I've no idea if they signed to Warp after the album was written (I didn't like it when it came out so didn't pay much attention at the time), but according to discogs St Dymphna was released in the same week on Warp and The Social Registry. But I was a bit surprised by the new as well. Maybe they'll continue to release on the two different labels in the US and the UK (same as bands like Deerhunter and Atlas Sound)? I've been a 4AD fan for many a year even though I've despaired at their signings sometimes, but I'd say they're fairly strong again these days. Looking forward to the Serena-Maneesh album in March. Here's the original link about the signing from the 4AD site, although there's not a lot of info. Redruth
interesting. they are going to be accompanied by a 'spirit guide' on these east coast dates? i wonder if Gang Gang is on-the-level with serious steel plated spiritualists or whether they are in with the airy fairy, peyote, iowaska new age space outs? i would guess 'airy fairy', but who knows Edited February 4, 2010 by troon Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/53099-gang-gang-dance/#findComment-1232496 Share on other sites
