I can't imagine many people on this forum will believe me, but hey! maybe i'm just being pessimistic.

2010 may have just got better. I quite fancy something different to Just a Souvenir, but its clear that he does whatever the fuck he wants with his albums. Which gives him my respect. I just didn't think much of J.A.S.

Anyway, this is only hearsay. My mate could be pulling my leg, but i seriously doubt it. She's not that kind of person. Plus her stepdad mastered one of nightmares on wax's albums.

I asked for a copy, she said if warp send her step dad a copy, then yes! Score!

I haven't listened to Solo Electric Bass. Are you guys being genuine or just taking the piss?

It may be a case of idiocy, where I got put off an album of an amazing artist and then forgot to see what the follow up was like.

I cant really say in which direction his new release is heading to. After Ultravisitor/Hello everything JAS was almost a logical conclusion. (Cant really say why, I liked all of them for different reasons) Now I'm clueless or maybe dont give a fuck, but my ears are wide open

Potentially good news; hoping he goes in a new direction entirely or builds on past efforts - that being said, I loved Hello Everything, didn't care much for SEB or JAS.

Judging from his normal release cycle ( 04, 06, 08) we should be due one towards the end of the year, althought the Numbers Lucent ep was only out a year ago. I was kind of hoping those acid tracks he played at the Warp 20 show will see some sort of release. I really want those acid tracks he played through the Hello Everything tour as well. Yes im greedy like that.

I liked JAS

just a souvenir was my favorite album in 08, and i'm very excited for a new squarepusher album, if it turns out to be true. loved everything since ultravisitor.

I sincerely hope this is true, and if it is the case I hope Warp don't sit on it for ages. The delay between when an artist produces their music and when we get to buy it baffles me somewhat.

This is good news. I really liked JAS, didn't care too much for SEB, although it was nice enough. I'm also interested to see where he goes from Numbers Lucent's "JAS + rave" sound...maybe more into the electronic side of things? Who knows

nah, i don't think i'd like to be a cause for one my favourite artists new album leaking onto the internet. something to do with morals or lack of balls. either way, i almost definitely wont get a copy. these warp employees can stop a promo going to her stepdad, that is, if he was supposed to get one anyway. and its not as if the step dad would jeopardise his job. i was just overly excited and overly caffeinated.

As much as I'd love to hear completely new fresh stuff, I have a real hankering for all the great unreleased tracks from over the years. It's great that I can download various live sets from here and there which sort of fill the void, but I'd love to have studio polished versions without the crowd noise and distortion. It's great to be there while it's happening at a live show, but for decent home listening or even DJing I'd love to have this material in decent quality. It would be great to have access to it soon rather than have to wait till the end of his career when people decide it's finally time to do a retrospective and dig up all the rareities and unreleased bits and bobs.

Since it might be an odd variety of bits and peices I think a great format for this would be a set of releases such as Aphex's Analord series. I know I said this before in another thread but it was largely ignored and it seems slightly more relevant now.

really, i'd take more of any SP style. even more Burningn'n Tree type music would be great for me. there might be unreleased material from the time.

I don't mean to be pessimistic, but could it be that he "just finished" mastering Solo Electric Bass 1? I mean, we don't know the length of time between her getting the autograph and her showing it to you, or how many projects her stepdad works on regularly so having "just finished" something could mean "within the past few months" to him. Ok so it's been about 6 months since that album was released, but still, you get the idea. Maybe you can clarify?

I'd certainly be happy to hear some new stuff, though, as I wasn't a big fan of JAS (but I did like Numbers Lucent).
