Anyone remember the anime series 'Space Battleship Yamato' aka 'Starblazers'? Apparently a live action version comes to Japanese theaters sometime this year. The looks like it could be fun. A love a good space battle.

i read today the Hughes Brothers are gonna direct the Akira movie, with DeCaprio producing.

SBY (aka StarBlazers) was the first real anime I was exposed to as a child... it holds a lot of nostalgic memories for me, so I hope they don't mess it up.

It would be interesting to see a live-action Super Dimensional Fortress Macross - I'm sure there are some Asian hotties that could play Lyn Min May (sp?) and sing the enemy to submission...

I'm glad that other guy has left the project... have you seen 50% grey? I haven't seen any of the Hughs brothers movies but it can't be any worse than that.

yeah, i had forgotten that i used to watch that. I think that ship and Harlock's must've just merged in my mind, hehe.
