my school sent me on a course because i was obviously handy with computers

we had a proper robo turtle linked to a BBC microcomputer which could raise and lower its pen and would slowly trundle around on a big huge sheet of paper

my clearest memories of it are writing a sweet spirograph routine, and the fella next to me naming a routine 'jobby'

we used Mac II

then some Oregon Trail action

i also have a working atari ST, zx spectrum, ZX81, dot-matrix printer, and roughly four feet of UNIX manuals from 1983, amongst other ephemera. one of these days imma open a museum lol

The first computers I ever used were TRS-80s. With tape drive.

Then moved up to Apple IIe, where I learned LOGO (in 1985 i think) and BASIC.

QuickBasic was the shit when I was 12

I've still got the msx-2 machine my parents bought in '86. It has a 720k floppy drive and an ms-dos compatible file system, 256k RAM, 2 joystick ports and a parallel port. I taught myself some BASIC and i made a drum program using the onboard 3-channel PSG. I'd like to learn some z80 machine coding one day, it's amazing what you can do with simple machines like that.
