thanks for listening, i love that era of Sote , i wonder if he'll ever return to the hard beat based stuff. I hope he does at some point, even just for a one off

this release isn't mentioned much on watmm or anywhere, it came out in between Electric Deaf and Wake up and is a little bit more experimental

i really like Dastgaah

cool, yeah Dastgaah is very under appreciated and unique album. it's hard to market music that isn't straight up noise/ambient/drone that is beatless electronic music.

i walked into Ameoba records out here when i first got the CDS back from the plant and i had to convince the record buyer that it wasn't 'electronica' in the traditional sense. I was like this is experimental because its making persian music on synthesizers, and he's like 'ok thats electronica' and we kept going back and forth for a while.

it appears on his persian electronic music double CD on sub rosa records as well, great fucking song though

I checked out Electric Deaf earlier, because of this thread. Got annoyed with the track before 2 minutes were up. Maybe I wasn't in the mood.

I find I'm almost never in the mood for this one; still fun every once in awhile though I suppose.

i just find there's nothing to it.

i don't know why, but i associate this 12" with basketball. probably because when i bought it, the NBA playoffs were going on.

so electric deaf = NBA playoffs... BASKETBALL!
