Guest beatfanatic
I cant get enough of their album "Funky Kingston". I first heard about them as a part of the soundtrack for the movie "This is England" and Ive been a fan ever since. Instrumental reggae tends to be a bit boring. Vocals keep things interesting in my opinion. So please recommend away. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/53432-toots-the-maytals/ Share on other sites
awepittance
my wife who is a reggae addict says : Jimmy Cliff, Bunny Whaler, Ken Booth, Desmond Decker (she says both of these guys kind of predate reggae as an established genre) edit: fun fact, Toots & the Maytals are one of the first known acts to use the term reggay (spelled differently in it's origin) Edited February 15, 2010 by Awepittance Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide awepittance's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/53432-toots-the-maytals/#findComment-1243098 Share on other sites
