Dove Campaign For Real Beauty

I realize this is kind of jazz by now, but I saw one of those Dove ads this morning and it made me think of it. When I first heard that Dove was starting a campaign for "real beauty", I was pretty damn excited. Finally, someone in corporate america had the courage to drop the use of ads featuring nothing but airbrushed images of super models. well, that's all well and good. but, has anyone else noticed that these are ads are full of nothing but fat chicks? i mean, there's a couple that would be pretty if they weren't so fat. but every one of them is fucking nasty. there's a couple of old wrinkly ones too. i didn't go to advertising school, but who the fuck is going to buy products if the message you're giving is "try our soap and you can look fat and nasty like these pigs."

Real beauty? maybe if you're a viking or a mongol.
