Yep, it's an official release. It was never released publicly, they just gave it out to their friends and family. Eventually, someone got hold of it and uploaded to SoulSeek, so now loads of people have heard it.

There's also Random 35 Tracks Tape and Old Tunes vol. 2, if you want to hear more.
