weird yet strangely balanced way to listen to music

so everyday to start my day i've been sorting my songs by length, and i'll just run through all the songs that are as long as the date. so all the songs that are 2:23, I listened to them in a row. it was a good random mix of tunes and they were all the exact same length and it was enjoyable.

juss sayin

Hey, not to rain on your parade or anything, but I just realized something.

Some songs are like 5:46 or 7:53 and whatnot.

Seeing that there are only 28, 30 or 31 days in a month, that's going to exclude a lot of tracks.

a different way to do it would be to listen to songs that are the same length as whatever the time is currently. This way you include all of them below 13 minutes and above a minute.

1 Hour. This is a good playlist!

My iphone does sort the playlist by alphabet when I just hit play without selecting anything

its nice to listen to it this way

but random is even more nice like a radio with really weird and nice music of which I don't know half of it even so I do know the stuff I put on it

Why not random by sub category? Like just randomize your playlist that is all star trek music, etc. That way you don't get genre cross talk.

i quite like "genre cross talk"

as do I. Well sometimes. Anyway, I was just suggesting a more biased play list to avoid hearing stuff you don't want to hear is response to:

when i put it on random i get fucking gomez and holiday music nonstop

i love randomize/shuffle. it's the main way i listen to my music. it's like the best radio station. where else i can hear playing Moondog, then Sunn O))), and then Scofield lol

i don't shuffle my whole mp3 collection frequently because it's 410gb and it takes too long to load into foobar2000

i saved a playlist of everything recently but i don't feel like updating it regularly so i guess i am just a lazy bastard

i'm an album kind of guy, i rarely ever listened to shuffled mixes, i just don't get anything from it.

i am too but i often realize "hey i haven't listened to most of my music in a while" and then i shuffle, it's like radio only made out of what i like or have liked

Math the Band AKA Kevin Steinhauser. I knew him in college and he was a very.... different sort of guy. It's kind of surreal seeing this pop in on WATMM.
