how to embed HD youtube videos on WATMM?

go to the "other styles" option and select YouTube HD, then put in the YouTube ID.

And, contrary to the instructions (I'm about to go fix them), paste JUST the video ID variable - not the entire URL.

it ensures the file plays in stereo and (closer) to the uploaded quality.

only useful if the original has more resolution/quality. otherwise, you just end up downloading the same quality but much larger file size. i wouldn't recommend putting this on as default, as most files won't benefit, and you just end up with slower loading.

I'm under the impression (due to my experimentation w/&fmt=18) that youtube by default mixes everything down to mono at a lower quality for the non-HD viewer. So far every time I've tried it with a mono file it's resulted in stereo playback.

I'm sure you're right about bandwidth, and I think that's exactly why they do it that way. Up to you guys whether it's good to make standard.
