one of my favorite comedians of all time, saw him live 3 or 4 times. he's particularly great when everyone is as drunk/fucked up as he is doing his jokes. maybe someone on the bass next to him on stage. good times.

Mitch was that lovable comedian that SEEMED like an idiot, but you quickly realized there is a lot of clever wordplay in his jokes, sort of like a stoned Monty Python writer.

Brilliant brilliant comedian. Sadly only discovered him after he passed away. So now know all his jokes off and kinda sad to think that body of work is finite. Would love to have seen him.

well, i mean, his whole schtick was to act like he was constantly out of it, which i think is only half true, the muddling around, comments on his jokes going over badly, etc.

He was slightly self deprecating and, I know this is really fucking dumb, but he seemed highly likeable. I dunno, I like to hang around with fellows who are bright on one hand, but on the other don't really give a flying fuck either, fellows who could analyse the problem of settlements on the Gaza Strip or economic theory, but really can't be arsed most of the time. Where am I going with this...oh yeah, Mitch seemed like one of them bright but not showy fellows.

Course now someone will probably say they knew someone who knew him and he was a bollix.

love the guy. got to see him once, toward the end. he was a bit off, but still funny of course. people were heckling him a bit because they heard 1 or 2 jokes that were on the cd, big deal. he always seemed to take heckling especially hard.
