awepittance
2nd file down since there are usually 3-4 songs playing at the same time pretty much through the whole mix (hawtin de9 style) it's hard to give track times, but here are the artists included - throbbing gristle vangelis tangerine dream bernard favere giorgio moroder munich machine raymond scott john carpenter jean jacque perrey depeche mode human league morton subotnick stockhausen herbie hancock dutch philips research laboratories kid baltan kraftwerk telex asmus tietchens yello lime patrick cowley esplendor geometrico severed heads soft cell nocturnal emissions zoviet france edgar frose klaus schluze chris and cosey chris carter jerry goldsmith skinny puppy black devil disco club cluster david tudor gil mellé louis and bebe barron tom dissevelt bbc radiophonic workshop xenakis ++ more i can't think of right now feel free to comment on soundcloud on a time and ask what artists are playing. i can easily identify it for you. the artist list may seem like it's going to be more experimental or difficult but its actually a very dancey set. six
Just finished this, really awesome mix. Can't believe you did this live, very impressive. I don't recognize a lot of this but then something I know will pop up for a few seconds and gradually fade back out again, really great selection. Would love to know the songs in a couple different sections. At 18-20 minutes there's a very Krautrock/Berlin School type synth track with a rolling bassline and a kind of brassy synth with trumpet in the back. May be a few different tracks but it works really well. The other one is a pretty upbeat happy synth melody kicking in at 43-45 minutes, with harmonizing vocals on top. Also may be a few different songs but I'd love to know the artists involved in both of these parts. May be a few different tracks but it works really well. thanks much! that synthy/brassy line you're hearing is from the opening 10 seconds of the Vagenlis' Heaven and Hell, it gets mixed in later with a song by Herbie Hancock called 'rain dance' probably his most experimental song, i wish he made other stuff like it. off the lp 'sextant' Vangelis' 'heaven and hell' pt 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0Tk0hUGm_o (one of my favorite synthesizer tracks of ALL time) Hancock's 'rain dance'- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RczWDQmKQtA Kraftwerk's 'radio stars' from radioactivity scroll to 8:45 in this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Pi2YqIy_94 that quirky drum beat is from a Patrick Cowley song that i'm having trouble identifying. I don't *think* anything else is playing during that part Edited February 28, 2010 by Awepittance Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide awepittance's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/53791-fluorescent-grey-antique-electronic-music-1955-1983/#findComment-1255115 Share on other sites
