we should be thankful for the bonus tracks he put out.

but i gotta feeling the manchester track is coming soon... synthacon in it's finished form was played by richard in 2005, release was 2007. manchester track was played in 2007, so maybe there's hope to get this jem in the next few months. patience i guess.

I love electronic music more than anything else. Fact.

Once-upon-a-time it was hip hop, then thrash metal, then it could of been doo-wap for all I care. I can't remember the exact time-line. Either way electronic music is what I love now.

I don't understand the culture of elecronic music at all when it comes to their fans. They just seem to want to fuck about as much as possible. Screw with your head. I kind of understand where they are coming from, the mystery fuels the fire etc etc.

To prevent me writing an essay on it. It boils down to this. Aphex, BoC, Squarepusher and Autechre are all from the UK. And nobody does eccentric like those from the Isles of England/Scotland/Wherever. They are all mad as hatters, have plenty of money and do as they please. In a way it's slightly disrespectful to their fans, but then we proberbly love them more for it.

So basicly to answer to your question is that they are all fucking nuts!

I don't think Rephlex give a shit about anything anymore. Their piss-poor website is testament to that.

Yeah, because their website was so much better in the early days...

I think it is a very decent online-shop and it's the first and stil only place I paid for mp3's. The layout is minimal on purpose (like their album packaging).

About a new album, I learned myself to stop expecting anything from musicians (I was shocked to see those new analord tracks, really cool move from Rephlex). We'll just see what happens.

Does the job, makes it nice and easy, what more do u want? Go piss-poor yourself.

Throughout 2008 and 2009 before the Christmas goodies arrived, they only put out four albums (and numerous EPs, granted), two were re-issues of old material and one was an archive release of old stuff, so I'd say we've already splurged this years payload already.

we should be thankful for those farts richard produced a few minutes ago

Isn't Rephlex releasing 12" anymore ?

Matter ? I heard Lowlands and Neuton are now closed, so is the vynil side of Rephlex definately down ?

PS : Come on, "Aphex Twin" is past now, "il dort sur ses couilles" as we say in french, we had the good things in the first decade. This is not those "new" tracks with those lolwut fucking lame titles who will change the side of Afx history, I actually doubt it was his proper initiative.

@ilt17 : i just looooooved the "il dort sur ses couilles" but I don't agree to this...What about Analords ?

EDIT : waw bonus tracks on Analord 4 !!!

I emailed Grant Caldridge back when the site got updated about physical releases off of the site, he said to keep my eyes out for physical releases so... any day now I figure? :spiteful:

I listened to some of the bonus tracks, some aren't that bad I admit but nothing compared to his older stuff. I've never been into Analord anyway, except a few tracks like w32.deadcode.a or xmd5a for exemple.

Seriously, releasing a bunch of tracks every two years since Analord, not even new ones. Touring with dj sets that every 'weird electronic music' self proclamed fag can do. The rough/unique Aphex has gone, that was the side I prefered from him.

All what he's done after Drukqs could have been sum up in one album like 'braindance works 01-06'. If I was him I'd have gone after Windowlicker, as planned by the man at the time.

Hmm, interresting thanks

The Bonus tracks on analord was awsome and Iam really thankful for those tracks. but the thing that bother me is no more 12¨? and its like they are thinking okey now they have that extra analord tracks so they can just wait 2 years to see something new from Aphex Twin. Do we have to forget furthercoming Aphex release because we have the extra analord tracks now?

Its nice to see that the new Rephlex site is up. Now i wonder how long we are gonna see that "Under Construction"

I think when it'll rain, it'll pour. When the Warp album comes out, he'll have other tunes kicking around for Rehplex too. He's always done this.

It seems like Richard has done a lot to de-mystify himself since his 90's heyday and make us realize that he's just a normal guy with a very active musical imagination. It makes you appreciate the music more for what it is. It's a very promising thing when an artist's latest music (Rushup Edge) is also one of my favorites from him. Like top 3. Besides, it's only singer-songwriter/rock band types who usually turn to shit as they get older. Other types of musicians only get better.
