Can you think of a well-known film or book where different people are chasing one guy?

For analogy purposes in this talk I'm giving on Tuesday. The only thing I can think of at the moment is Pi, where everyone wants to get their hands on Max because he has the magic number. Something like that, except more mainstream. There's gotta be something.

lol some good ideas in this thread, thanks guys, some particularly humorous given the context of the paper. I'm doing a PhD in medieval history and for anyone who cares to know, this talk is about St. Wilfrid's (seventh-century Anglo-Saxon bishop) travels on the continent. I was trying to think of some modern analogue of his efforts to evade the wrath of the Frankish duke Ebroin and some other enemies back home in England, all of whom wanted his head. I think North By Northwest is the best suggestion so far.
