Dael faux steel guitar cover

Recommended Posts

An ambling cover of Dael for faux steel guitar. I did this 5 years ago... I share it with the world (or at least this forum) today in benevolent celebration of the release of Oversteps.

Hey, thanks a lot everyone.

The way it was done is - my main instrument is the piano. And I play little covers of stuff on the piano often. So after I'd been playing my version of Dael, I played it on a midi keyboard into Logic, using the steel guitar instrument. Then I tidied up a few of the sloppier midi events, added some reverb and delay to the coda and bounced it.

I don't have any more that are recorded, but other stuff I try to play includes Second Scepe (the idea sounds ridiculous, but I stick to the chords mostly), the melodic bit of LCC...

If I get another one done I'll put it up. Otherwise, I'll join up to the Autechre twangy covers project if that happens ;)

innovative acoustic (or acoustic sounding) covers would be great, but anything goes i guess!

i was actually thinking of doing an acoustic version of one of the tracks on oversteps, or maphive6.1, or drane2..

I've been working on a known(1) midi so I can possibly make an arrangment for piano but... I can't successfully arrange songs anyway. :@ Just for fun I guess... the lead is a bit difficult but it's far easier than I would have imagined. When it's done I'll upload it.
