Wisp is on tour in the UK & Europe in March/April 2010, following the recent release of his 2nd Rephlex album “We Miss You”.

Wisp (Reid Dunn) comes from Niagara Falls, New York. He makes electronic music that spans many genres, from jungle and experimental drum n bass to ambient and downtempo electronica. Nostalgic computer games bear an influence on his music. He began releasing music for free, in the form of mp3s on netlabels, but has since released on Sublight and more recently has been signed to the legendary Rephlex Records.

In this recent interview, “Rephlex Records” (sic) boss Grant Wilson-Claridge describes Wisp as the best new talent in electronic music for at least 10 years. http://www.skiddle.com/news/all/Raphlex-Interview/4103/

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

I hope the music box has a better turn out than (quite literally) handful that happen to be passing by when Cylob played

Hey, yeah, that was my launch night, although the crowd wasn't huge (pretty small). It was the 1st night, i can assure you, there's going to be alot more this time, i have 5,000 flyers ready to be handed out and around Manchester next week for the Wisp night. That 1st night i didn't expect a big turnout, as i was making a name for myself. But i think, without complaint, the music was spot on, 2 steaming sets from Ed and Cylob hopefully keep on building on this. I hope i'll be seeing you at the Wisp / Global Goon night!

Well there was more folk listening to the resident drum n bass and dupstep DJ's in the next room that night than Cylob and Ed who nobody seemed to recognise except us oldie geeks.

If its your first time at this then I'll let you off as at least your getting some quality stuff in but need a decent crowd or else artists/DJ won't be arsed with you if your not aiding their own promotion as well.

Anyhowz I reckon Wisp should also be worth an hours drive :braindance:

The Centrifuge returns to London after a half-year hiatus from club nights, in which time they have taken their quirky brand of challenging yet accessible live electronic music to the global stage. Having upped sticks and moved HQ to Berlin at the start of 2010, the good word has been spreading far and wide. Now they are back in their old stomping ground with nothing less than a stellar lineup to celebrate the climax and finale of WISP's first European Tour of the new decade.

And what a decade it is shaping up to be for WISP! Hailing from Niagra Falls in the USA, his profile exploded last year after his first two highly-anticipated albums for Aphex Twin's Rephlex label emerged, revealing new electro/techno influences to his sound that is tweaked to move feet, tickle minds and break hearts on the dancefloor. 2009 also saw 2 huge UK shows with Aphex Twin and a North American tour with Venetian Snares, both of which are amongst his biggest fans. Come and see what the fuss is about!

As if that wasn't enough, we have another FOUR (count 'em!) live acts in support of Wisp. RIVAL CONSOLES makes the first appearance of many under The Centrifuge's banner, bringing his ultra-catchy synth lines and funked-up drum machine workouts. A true star in the making. MRS JYNX touches down from Manchester with her timeless take on pastoral electronica, retro-electro melody wizard OXYNUCID is exlusively road testing this summer's festival live set and ROTODRONE plays his first-ever live show, previewing his amazing new album forthcoming on The Centrifuge. missaw provides DJ support for the main attractions.

In Room 2, the ever-excellent electronic music blog null+void present a lineup bridging the gap between electro, acid, dubstep and drum'n'bass with Militant Science head honcho PAUL BLACKFORD and SCRASE performing live alongside hardware fiend TUDOR ACID and DJs Ursa and Kiersty.

Room 3 is hosted by Neon Skullz, bringing his own blend of seriously hype beats, breaks, bass and rhythms to the rave. Rinsing out the biggest bassline, grime and dubstep joints, mashed, fused and cut together with killer dancehall, baile funk, fidget, hip hop, electro, and bmore cuts and a healthy slice of proper rave classics lobbed in for good meausure.

£7 tickets are available via Paypal (send £7 to info@thecentrifuge.co.uk), more outlets to be announced shortly.

See you down the front!
