beard dander

Recommended Posts

i hate this.

the only way i can look somewhat attractive is with facial hair, and now ive realized for some reason my mustache (and only the mustache) gets dander....its fucking ridiculous and disgusting. ive tried soaping it, shampooing it, leaving it alone for a few days....my next step is to head and shoulder's my upper lip...which is fucking retarded to have to do.

now im paranoid the rest of my hair is dandrous, im constantly scruffing my hair and my beard, and nothing comes out....wtf God? why just the stache?

Maybe you are not washing it enough/washing it too much? Try something with glycerin, like Dr. Bronners; it won't dry out your skin, and is good for daily use.

If you try head and shoulders keep your mouth closed tighter than a walrus's ass, because that stuff will basically pour right through you like draino TRUST ME I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE.

i ten to condition my beard once a week or so and i do not suffer from dander. that is also coupled with washing it with shampoo in every shower.

yeah olive oil works, but i find conditioner just smells better. i've tried it a handful of times and they both work equally well but conditioner is cheaper and tastes worse, smells better.

i told an ex-girlfriend once over the phone to rub conditioner on her titties and to imagine me bustin' a nut on her... she did it.

Smettingham,

Dander or Dandruff, is a terrible social problem that far too many men suffer with. Unfortunately, unlike head dandruff, beard dandruff is right on your fucking face so it is especially embarrassing. Don't worry! It's not life threatening, but it can convey that your a lazy, good-for-nothing slacker, which would just be a shame.

Although there is no "cure" per-say, there are steps that can be taken to combat this Klingon concocted bullshit.

Some other posters offered some solid suggestions, Now I would like to take a minute to let you in on some of my own top secret techniques.

1. Most people that complain of Dandruff just have dry skin, which can caused by an excessively dry climate in your house or office. If this is the case, try to fix that shit.

2. If you don't already own it, buy some dandruff shampoo. There are many brands on the market and I can't tell you which one will work for you, it is not uncommon to have one brand work for one person and not another. Make sure it contains one of the following ingredients: salicylic acid, sulfur, selenium sulfide, tar, coal, or zinc pyrithione... if it doesn't have one of those it's probably some bullshit.

3. Make sure to use the shampoo properly. Seriously man, you have to leave that stuff in there a few minutes.. Then when you go to rinse, make sure you get all of the shampoo out. Be warned, this may take 4 or 5 rinses, but it's important so don't fuck it up. When your done rinsing, dry your face thoroughly with a towel.

4. Fluff, but don't over fluff, it can exacerbate the problem.

5. Don't over style your beard with trendy products. Excessive use of styling products can dry out the skin and produce flakes.

6. Most people don't know this, but stress can be a big contributor to dandruff. Avoid Stress completely and you may save yourself a lot of beard-ache.

One more thing, if your going to go with a exotic beard oil or conditioner, make sure you do your research for Christ's sake. Most of these internet con-men just mix up some sesame oil and lime and sell it for $10 a oz.
